Here I Share A Part Of My Inner Self

Can Writing Evolve To Become A Linguistic Art?

With years of reading and writing one can become

a self taught writer without the

classroom

                            ~

When composing the written word whether it be

fiction or non-fiction, an aspiring writer relies on

the combination of fundamentals they have developed over time.

And over time they become artistically imaginative which can give rise to diversity inclusive with the birth of new ideas and original story lines.

Therefore, as with any artistic endeavour

continuance from the artist is what develops this talent further. Nonetheless, it takes many years to evolve an individual style to express ones creativity.

And it all begins with that inner desire to read,

learn knowledge or escape within the pages

of another’s imaginative tales.  Avid readers become artistic writers.

Exercising and utilizing the mind develops

intellect and expands the imagination. E

xploring with the imagination develops style and creativity further.

However, most importantly, the artistic maturity

the writer reaches from years of reading and

writing

is what spawns the agility of a linguistic gift.

This cannot be learned in a classroom setting nor

can it be developed from a text book of simple

punctuation symbols and sentence structure.

Buildings are structures not language.

Young writers in their efforts to apply both

their reading and writing together may believe the classroom to be the ideal way to reduce the

years needed from experiencing and

developing

                      their gift naturally.

This approach for acquiring success does not necessarily work. It signifies their true reason for pursuing

a writing career; money.

Thus that’s all it ever becomes, a career.

A true artist of the written word does not seek to benefit from their art in this way. Their growth does not come from the dollar sign, it comes from within.

And their written works do not need an outside

editor nor do they need others to criticise their style, imagination or the way they create and phrase their sentences.

Within each of us language comes with individual s

tyle and personality. And there are no rules or laws governing how one should convey or express themselves in any language.

A true artist of language revises; they do not edit.

The definition of edit means to alter, change,

rewrite or correct which clearly tells us there are a multiple of authors writing the same piece; and most

are called editors.

Therefore the pieces are not solely written by the

authors themselves.

One should keep in mind, artistic writing comes

naturally.

And the desire to further develop this artistic

creativity into a linguistic gift must come from within

not from an artificial desire for materialistic gain.

Writing Fiction

The basics of writing prose such as simple poetry

or card verse is the ideal way for any aspiring

writer to begin creating. But soon they outgrow this

single dimensional form of writing.

The increasing desire to expand and

diversify develops quickly with ones first work of fiction.

The most difficult form of writing, fiction

not only requires creative imagination it requires

realistic characters and plots.

Visualizing and creating the ideal setting and or environment must be relevant with the plot and

the events that unfold throughout the story.Description of such settings is imperative in

order for the reader to visualize detail and colour; to unify completely.

The reader can virtually position themselves

within the setting itself they in turn become an outsider looking in.

This creates an enchanted connection to the story and with the characters themselves.

To imagine one’s self as a silent character

within a story while reading one is a unique experience. The imagination can take the reader into the world of the characters.

Character personalities and motives must also

be realistic and consistent throughout the piece.

A character who’s introduced with an

optimistic personality should remain as such unless

tragic events distort the characters

personality.

Main characters should be kept to a minimal and provided with supporting roles.

Consistently introducing new characters who briefly

take part can cause confusion in the story, with

events and with the reader.

Many new writers prefer writing in first person

but are soon motivated to develop and

progress

to writing in third person. Established writers

are known to write in third person

allowing the reader to connect with all character personalities.

Emotional connection with just a single character just doesn’t compare.

The story is far more stimulating and enjoyable

if the reader can emotionally connect with all the main characters.

Non-Fiction

Non-fiction can be challenging in other ways. Using the imagination when recalling events, people and the order in which things happen must be applied in the same manner as fiction. This allows the reader again to visualize things with more detail.

Then again, when research is needed, the simple duplication of facts is not considered ideal when presenting articles or reports. The origins from which information or knowledge is gathered must come from a variety of resources not from a single article or review.

Facts should be collected, re-arranged and re-written using the writer’s style, intellect and creativity. Their philosophy and knowledge is then blended in a balanced way.

Articles and reports are written with a little more expertise presenting the reader with knowledge along with further resources pertaining to the subject at hand.

Articles are not short stories of a personal experience and they shouldn’t be written as such. It’s the knowledge gained from the experience that is used and presented as an informative article.

The complexities of the English language have become vast and unforgiving. Nonetheless, indulging oneself into the world of the written word their way with their own artistic creativity is a most rewarding experience encouraging inner growth further.

The imagination can take the writer to places others can only dream of.

Not only does the imagination offer health-giving virtues it allows the writer imaginative experiencing, an alternative reprieve from the physical world they’re bound to.

Creating worlds, scenes, characters, personalities and events, this form of escapism benefits the writer and the reader alike.

And for anyone who seeks relief from the demanding world they live in, exploring this way through the imagination of an artistic writer is far more rewarding than the simplicities of physical activity.
